I am heart-broken at the terms: essential or non-essential. Just my opinion, it is degrading and pits people against each other. I am tired of political beings making decisions on who is important and who is not. Which business is important and which is not. I am not dumb. I live with the shingles virus alive in my body everyday. But, what I do know is these pauses (Nevada on pause 2.1.1) is killing our economy and the lives of those who gave everything for their business and livelihood. How does our society choose who is essential and who is non-essential? I am still trying to figure that out. I also do not agree with pastors and leaders who just say trust God and let it all just flow. I don’t believe the Bible tells people not to sound the alarm that this is not okay. I read the Old Testament and all the prophets predicted the consequences as they spoke boldly against believers who hide under the radar, but called them to stand firm and not bow down when we see attacks on our Biblical foundation.

“Be on your guard; stand firm in your faith; be men of courage; be strong.” 1 Corinthians 16:13

“Elijah went before the people and said, ‘How long will you waver between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow him; but if Baal is God, follow him.’” I Kings 18:21

2020 has been overwhelming. The struggle is real, but when you are at the end of your done just know that God is not done with you. He paid a price that breaks through the bleakness of this world. He shares in your struggle. If you believe this then it will reflect on your outlook on your situation. Do you attack others with bitterness, negativity, and anger or do you hold onto God with a firmness of grace and mercy on others, positivity, and confidence in his promises.

‘Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you; Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’ Isaiah 41:10

I have found comfort in a new song by the church I am attending which is Central Church. It is powerful, so here is the link to youtube video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ay9n-eG4Evg

The phrases that stand out to me are:

You make me strong

You make me courageous

I won’t be afraid

I won’t be discouraged

I believe you will see me through

Nothing is impossible for you,

You always win

Listen and see if this song doesn’t move your spirit like it did with me. Nourish your spirit daily so you can stand firm. Each life and worker is essential. You are all important, so my prayers are with you and know you are not alone.

God Bless You All this week and Merry Christmas as Jesus is the Reason for the Season.
