Silence & Complacency? The character of the American Church

 

Did the pandemic reveal the character of the American church-Part 1?

Silence & Complacency? Stability was shaken even in the church.

-Billy Graham “bad politicians are elected by good people who don’t vote.

-Ronald Reagan “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn't pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children's children what it was once like in the United States where men were free.”

Jude 1:4 states “for certain individuals whose condemnation was written about long ago have secretly slipped in among you. They are ungodly people who pervert the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign and Lord.”

American History Removed and Replaced with Movements

American History: Schools are adopting movements and removing the true foundation of America. Adopting The 1619 Project overrides America’s founding was not marked by the Declaration of Independence in 1776, but the arrival of the first African Slaves in Jamestown in 1619. The malicious slander is being taught in schools as truth. It teaches that America is, was, and always has been a fundamentally racist country. White Americans today bear responsibility for all current and historic racism.

Clark County School District has adopted:

SS.9-12.US.14. Evaluate the impact of individuals and reform movements on the struggle for greater civil rights and liberties throughout U.S. History.

Assignment #1:

Assignment #2

How have government leaders and policies impacted the movement?

The second supporting layers in the role on top of the public reaction, allowing you to better analyze the history of policies that affect the LGBTQ2+ community under certain leadership. You will be assessing the advancements and setbacks detailed in the sources as well as the accounts’ placement on the timeline.

Assignment #3

What role do people within the LGBTQ+ community play in the movement?

The fourth and final supporting directs the attention to those most intimately affected by the movement’s progress, people of the LGBTQ+ community themselves. The sources’ shift in point of view moves the inquiry towards consideration of the first-hand accounts of those impacted, personalizing the reality behind the policies, decisions, and reactions. You will be forming a claim to answer the supporting question of how the movement affected by the personal experiences of people within the LGBTQ+ community.

Rewriting history opens the door to Critical Race Theory= diversity, equity, and inclusion.

2021 I wrote to the Nevada State Education Board and CCSD School Board

Critical Race Theory (CRT) inhibits unity by segregating students into groups based on race and skin color. CRT advocates assigning levels of “privilege” and “oppression” to individuals/students; therefore, creating animosity from the perceived oppressors, and false sense of entitlement from the oppressed. This is a divisive ideology and separates our community.

A child should never be taught to feel guilty or ashamed of the color of their skin. CRT is a far-left mentality that is opposite of what MLK fought for which is “don’t judge a person by the color of their skin but instead the content of their character.” Many students identify as multi-ethnic which means CCSD would be putting a student in opposition within the family causing harm as the student is expected to choose one parent as oppressor and the other as oppressed. This is not a safe space for students on a CCSD campus.

Education mission statement of public schools

At a time of obscene inequities merely trying to compensate is not enough so AASA must go further and become actively anti-racist.

Understand that anti-racism does not mean equal treatment of others. It is an all-encompassing ideology that demands that white people accept that their behavior is implicitly racist and explicitly racist. If you say you are not racist only proves that you are racist. You are so racist you don’t even know it. If being called a racist upset, you then that is proof of your white fragility.

Learn about the influencers like Ibram X. Kendi who is the author of How to be an Anti-Racist state that “there is no ‘not racist.’ There is only racist and anti-racist. Your silence favors the status quo and the violently oppressive harm it does to black and brown folk everywhere.” Anti-racism embraces racism if done on their terms.

The mantra is:

 “The only remedy to racist discrimination is anti-racist discrimination.”

“The only remedy to past discrimination is present discrimination.”

“Arsonists (Black Lives Matters) should serve as a model for teachers.” Lorena German who is the head of the committee of anti-racism of English teachers.

“Educators, what are you burning? Your white-centered curriculum? The school’s racist policies? Your racist ass principal? The funding for the police in school vs. counselors?

It is a call to get rid of traditional school curriculum. Groups named culturally responsive education working group wants to transform our public schools: A guide to culturally responsive & sustaining education.

“The whole western canon is rife with horrible stories & atrocities of who we are as a people of color.”

The National Committee on social studies want to instill in our youth that there is racial inequality in economic opportunity, education, incarceration rates, and brutality from police and others. (This is political indoctrination)

Indoctrination: cultural and political polarization: power, privilege, access, and inequity

Teaching tolerance = Anti-racist educators recognize that schools today are doing exactly what they were built to do in this country. “There is no Apolitical classroom”

Churches Awaken

The temptation to be quiet and simply carry on with life can indeed be strong

Equip our kids and families to answer when man’s worldview is not a biblical worldview

1. In the Old Testament book of Esther, there’s a great passage that speaks to this issue

-Esther has an opportunity to speak t the king and help her people, but she’s reluctant to approach him for fear of what it will cost her. Here uncle Mordecai offers this response:

-When Esther’s words were reported to Mordecai, he sent back this answer “Do not think that because you are in the king’s house you alone of all the Jews will escape. For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this” (Esther 4: 12-14).

2. Church is in the position to be able to speak up and defend our God-given Freedoms:

- “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead, they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in Heaven” (Matthew 5: 14-16).

3. When we stay silent, we are covering our light-the truth of God’s word-when we should be shining it for all to see. It may be scary, uncomfortable, even risky to speak out, but when tempted to stay silent, remember:

- “What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can stand against us?” (Romans 8:31).
