My nephew had a testicular torsion. From the description I can’t imagine the pain this poor middle schooler was feeling. He had to have surgery which went very well and he is home recovering. The reason I wanted to share this with you is because of his comment once he was back home. He has such a great sense of humor. He said, “when I have kids I will have a great story to tell them. I can tell them it was close. I almost lost you all….then he can fill them in.” Might have been the drugs, but his mind went to the future. That he even had a thought about being a dad someday.
“Heal me, Lord, and I will be healed; save me and I will be saved, for you are the one I praise,” (Jeremiah 17:14).
On the other side, my sister and her daughter were waiting and a young girl was brought into the hospital with cuts all over her arms and legs. My niece was a cutter so she could empathize so she wrote her a note with a drawing on it. The sweetness of her heart is enough to care for a stranger. To give this young girl a smile and a wave. I certainly hope the young girl reads that note and is reminded how much she matters to this world. This is the lost generation of hurting hearts, minds, and souls. Brokenness has been the blanket of hopelessness I have seen over the past 5 years. Prayers for these young minds so wrapped up in anxiety and depression. Thankful that my niece overcame that darkness and she wants to reach out to others she sees needing a kind word.
“A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones”(Proverbs 17:22).
So, finally an answer to these sinus infections. It is a Staff infection. The hardest kind to treat in the area of my upper sinus area behind my right eye. Figures! I am on 3 different very strong antibiotics. One I can’t even exercise as it turns your tendons to rubber so you may snap one. No exercise is torture as that is one of my biggest outlets from stress. Uggg. It stops it from replicating. Sounds like an alien form to me. The other 2 are from a lab where they grow the strain and then apply the antibiotics that will destroy it. It has been 2 weeks and I am partially unblocked, so adding the cocktail will be a very strong steroid. So for those also going through long term healing just know I reach out my prayers to you. I have been sick so long I am not sure if I will even understand what it feels like to be healthy. Since Shingles in 2019, I haven’t been able to catch a break. It is now 2026, so my prayer is that this is the final round. For those celebrating their own healed journeys I am so happy for all of you. Blessings!
“But I will restore you to health and heal your wounds, declares the Lord” (Jeremiah 30:17).
Forgiveness is another way to heal. I am in the circle of people who I am having a hard time interacting with. I keep telling God that I know I need to forgive. You put this in my life to keep me humble. But, it is a struggle. Letting it go is supposed to make me feel better because if I do then it just should not bother me, but it just does. Don’t get me wrong I am cordial and I will work with this circle of people but to be honest God does know I don’t like it because he knows everything I am thinking and feeling. Imperfection in my own self still has me blinded a bit with this one.
Here is my own conviction scriptures:
“Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ” (Ephesians 4:15).
“Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you” (Ephesians 4:32).
“But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble” (James 4:6).
A little history lesson not being taught to our young people:
Take a look at the picture of Washington crossing the Delaware portrait. Ever notice in the front of the boat to the right of Washington? Notice something that I hadn’t when learning about this river crossing? The Wallbuilders founded by the Barton family is where I was asked to look closer at the portrait.
There is a black man rowing. Some try to claim he must have been a slave, but looking at the military unit in charge of manning boats it is more likely that he was a soldier from the fully integrated Marblehead Regiment (Glover’s 14th Massachusetts Regiment). Black and white seamen worked together with little conflict, but Washington was not a proponent of interracial military units.
It was the opposite, but he had to rely on the seamen and thank goodness he did as Glover’s Regiment ferried him across the Delaware to attack the enemy. That night the interracial seaman silently and safely carried Washington and 9.500 continental soldiers, along with all their baggage, artillery, stores, horses, and provisions to Manhattan Island.
If it were not for the Marbleheaders Washington likely would have been captured by the British and hanged. I have more tales to tell as I am reading American history through multiple lenses.
Washington appears on the $1 bill, but we lose the significance in the day in age we don’t teach kids about money let alone what is on it and why it matters.

My Faith Votes had this new song posted. It was a wrap up song of all the voices being drowned out today. It is “A Voice” by Jeffrey Steele. Lyrics matter so listen to his passion and concern for others who are being silenced today. Very relevant!
I wish I had a voice
I would raise it now
For all the silent ones
No one seems to care about
Speak for all of us
And crank the volume up
And let the simple truth cut through the noise
I wish I had a voice
