January 13, 2023 DDF Breathes New Life Post/Songs from God

Close your eyes and if God was singing to you what words would he sing into your life? I am not sure about you, but when a song just hits what I am going through I listen to it over and over. The song that I just couldn’t get out of my mind is “Dancing on the Waves” by We the Kingdom. In the Bible, it is Peter who gets out of the boat and takes a few steps on the water, but his faith wavers and starts to sink. Jesus takes his hand and what I think is glossed over is that Peter walks on the water back to the boat holding the hand of Jesus. What a picture in my mind of Jesus caring about Peter so much that he didn’t just drag him back to the boat but he walked on the water with Peter. Listen to the song and let the words simmer in your mind to see if you get the same message I did. Maybe he will sing a different song to you.

I'm reaching out, I'll chase you down
I dare you to believe how much I love you now
Don't be afraid, I am your strength
We'll be walking on the water, dancing on the waves

This week has been very busy, but I made time to see my doctor. Not sure if you all know that I get bloodwork done every 6 months after I had shingles back in 2019. He has been monitoring my kidneys over the past year and I just can’t get levels that show my kidneys are fully functioning. Nothing emergency based, but to the specialist I will eventually go. I am not sure you are with me on this one, but I don’t want to be told I need to see a specialist. Brings up negative panicky thoughts. I need the reminder that

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand” (Isaiah 41:10).

So, in my studies this week I happened to read an article on why “under God” and “indivisible” are crucial to understanding why the pledge is so important in respect to the foundation of America as we reflect on the true version of the United States.

In 1954, in response to the Communist threat of the times, President Eisenhower encouraged Congress to add the words "under God," creating the 31-word pledge we say today. Bellamy's daughter objected to this alteration. Today it reads:

"I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."

Why it matters:
***we need a reference to the God of our country in our pledge so we stay grounded in the hierarchy that God is first

-It reminds all of us that everyone is accountable to a higher authority-even presidents and all other government branches. God is the highest authority

History: “We are controlled by a power within them or by a power without them; either by the word of God or by the strong arm of man; either by the Bible or by the bayonet” (speaker of the house Robert Winthrop early 1800’s).

If we will come together under the authority of God and His word, not only will He bless our nation and empower us to overcome evil, but He will also bring us into the unity of the faith. This means we will no longer be just a bunch of dis-jointed, self-serving people, but we will be united under God, indivisible, and melded together to truly make our country great again and bring forth our country’s great potential for good.

“until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ” (Ephesians 4:13)

Pray that your spirit is open to listen to God’s song for your life today. May healing come for those who have to see specialists and comfort them in the unknown. Know you are not alone so prayers for every situation and circumstance. Amen

Blessings,
