June 8, 2025 Posted thoughts on decompressing to find your peace

How do you decompress after a very stressful period of your life? For me, the past 6 months has been intense. I am a project based kind of person so working with task based people stresses me out. Nothing wrong with either, but put them together it can cause conflict and even hurt feelings. It can divide people to the point of a group that seemed so cohesive to split and separate from one another. I think that is what happens with politics. So many groups that could work together building a strong base that would help all Nevadans end up putting up a wall against each other. Protecting their group from perceived enemies where both want the same thing, but just can’t work together even if they believe in the same outcomes.

It is difficult to wrap my mind around as I can clearly see the breakdown of communication to the inevitability of attacking of each other. The impact can be devastating and hurt the brand of the group as on-lookers steer clear when a group becomes more divisive than building a productive voice for the average person to believe in.

“A project-based type of person (or a project-based mindset) is someone who thrives on working on specific projects with clear goals, milestones, and deliverables. They are focused on the completion of the project as a whole, breaking it down into manageable steps and prioritizing tasks to achieve the final outcome.”

“In contrast to a task-based approach, where the focus might be on completing individual tasks without a clear connection to a larger project, a project-based person focuses on the cohesive completion of a whole project, using milestones and sub-goals as markers of progress.”

I think people just assume that if the goal is X then whoever joins the group will be like-minded so everyone will just get along and all will work out for the good of the masses. But, maintaining cohesion is a lot more difficult than one might think.

On to trying out my own advice and decompressing, so let AI list out ways to decompress and I do not like any of the options. I am too impatient for yoga, meditation, deep breathing, mindfulness, self-care, or lifestyle modifications. There were only two tasks I could do which were brisk exercising like walking and getting outdoors. The only problem is if I go outside and briskly exercise in the Vegas heat I could actually spontaneously combust and all you would find is my ashes.

I settled on the few things I like to do: writing helps me vent, reading helps me think about what I want to vent about later, and being social at church, in worship, a prayer group or attending Biblical learning events. These help revive my mind, heart, and soul.

Psalm 23 is one of my favorites because it directs you to the One who can give and be your peaceful rest even in times of great distress. David writes about his own personal experience of God providing for him. David saw God as his protector, guide, and sustainer. He expresses his gratitude with such beautiful imagery.

Psalm 23: 1-3
The Lord is my shepherd;
I shall not [want.
He makes me to lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside the still waters.
He restores my soul;
He leads me in the paths of righteousness
For His name’s sake.

Whatever your stressors are today, my prayer for you is to find that peaceful space that reconciles you to our creator so you write out your own personal psalm.

Lost in Trans Nation: A Child Psychiatrist's Guide Out of the Madness By Miriam Grossman Forward

 Focus Points:

1: Social

The pattern underlying the emergence of such social contagion:

-sufferers, typically young women, suffer disproportionately and more generally and primarily from elevated levels of trait or state neuroticism

Ex. clinical & subclinical variants, depression, anxiety, self-consciousness, and confusion

-girls tend toward a basic an undifferentiated psychopathy then seeks a socially acceptable form of expression

Ex. obsessed, depressed, anxious, neurotic, self-starvation, emaciated bodies, social media misdiagnosis

2: Political

Transmissible psychological disease such as National Socialism that can spread like a virus

-ideology that fosters immature, philosophically shallow, incoherent, hedonistic, narcissistic claims, subjectively defined “identity” underlying the trans/gender-dysphoria/gender-affirmation movement is in part ideological and political

3: Medical

Transmissible psychological disease spreads among medical professionals and their clinical colleagues

-counselors and psychologists 1st

-poorly trained clinicians jump on the “medical” bandwagon

-psychological contagion offering unproven treatments

Ex. incompetent, greedy, manipulative, narcissistic, and sadistic

-pushing unproven treatments on those in dire straits causing damage, lining their pockets, shouting their incompetence as cutting-edge clinical wisdom

-demonizing those who dare question their ethics

***public trust in perceived expertise

***professionals justify and implement its policies in a language of compassion

***mixing psychological and social forces with the political is a toxic brew

Psychogenic Epidemics:

-shapes the manifestation of anxiety, depression, and hopelessness

-under guise of compassion provides a fix to young people’s suffering

-promise to end increased self-consciousness and negative emotion associated with puberty

-increase of gender-affirming treatment for vulnerable children and adolescents

-the role political and ideology on shaping treatments

-consequences for confused children that destroys them physically and psychologically

History:

Dr. John Monet

-developed the idea of gender identity

-idea that there was a separate subjective element to sex, purely psychological in nature

-his idea infiltrated psychiatric and medical sub-professions

-leading to gender reassignment protocols ranging from therapeutic to hormonal to surgical

***influenced Western world theory that sex and subjective gender identity are separate that is now enforced by law, therapists, and medical professionals compelled to affirm the subjective identity claimed by their clients/patients

-must reject “sex assigned at birth” only based on external anatomy

-male or female sex designation is no longer the accepted gender identity

Dutch Protocol discredited:

-established the so-called “gender affirming” care standards

-Tavistock scandal: disgraced clinic following Dutch protocols in the UK was at the forefront of “gender-affirming” care provisions

-these same disgraced clinics came to the US following the discredited Dutch Protocol ae now in the midst of scandals

Lies:

-manipulative: rather have a live trans child or a dead child

-no evidence that the only alternative to early medical transition of a child with gender dysphoria is suicide

***unjustified  “medical” advice is professional misconduct

-equally liable is what id being disseminated by schools, courts, and social work systems

-no longer devoted to the protection of children

-instead children are being irreparably damaged by the physical and psychological transformation

-”affirmation” of their “new identity” harms the whole family

-narcissistic  parents use trans-hormonal and surgical procedures as a weapon in custody cases (gender affirming parent receives full custody-non-conforming parent loses all access to the child where courts rule to cut any hope of reunification between parent and child)

***exploitation of blind faith in the goodness of man and woman

Ex. Chloe Cole

-pioneering detransitioner

-challenging the medical profession and corporations in the courts

-exposing the tactics used upon her when she was a minor

-reveals the devastating growth of this industry, economics, and marketing that align themselves with making money over the best interest of confused youth

-Global Market Insights is an example of a company that offer services (11% compound rise)-money is the focus

***companies & medical field willing to exploit miserable, wretched unhappy children and their desperate clueless parents

-$632 million in the US in 2022

-$1.9 billion in the US estimated by 2032

Why?

-Where are the nurses, physicians, and counselors who should be speaking out against this destructive care?

***self-serving “morality” is manifested in our society in the individual, political, and medical levels that is even worse then psychogenic epidemics

May 31, 2025 Posted Thoughts on Compromise

The “art of compromise” involves finding mutually beneficial solutions in disagreements by making concessions and finding middle ground. Finding win-win solutions is the goal of compromising where one doesn’t give everything but to find a solution where both parties feel their needs are being met to some extent. It calls for honest communication.

The “art of negotiation” is a multifaceted skill involving communication, compromise, and conflict resolution to reach mutually beneficial agreements. It’s a strategic process where parties with different needs and viewpoints seek to find common ground and resolve disagreements. Effective negotiations involve active listening, empathy, clear objectives, and a focus on win-win solutions.

It has come to be very clear that neither of these effective strategies are used in the realm of politics. It is more like a hostage situation. The less tenured the less power you have so when you introduce a bill it is pushed aside until you agree to vote yes to the more tenured legislature’s bills even if those bills gut your integrity, morality, conscience, values, dignity, principles, and self-respect.

I have watched enough floor sessions to see how much intimidation affects the legislators. The scolding is intense and if this is how it is when the public can see I can only imagine how contentious it is behind closed doors. I do commend the small group who do not vote at the whim of the committee chairs. I am sure it can’t be easy not to have one of your bills heard on the floor because the chair has targeted you as the bad seed on the committee. The ugly consequences of non-compliance. Certainly deserves grace from voters.

Psalm 119 is lengthy, but it really does reflect what the minority must go through in a political cycle. God’s law vs. man’s law. It highlights the role of leading a life of obedience to God where His word is a lamp to one’s feet. The Psalm is a great source of comfort and strength when you are hard pressed from every side to bend to the will of man over the truth you know you should not compromise.

“Though I am lowly and despised, I do not forget your precepts. Your righteousness is everlasting and your law is true. Trouble and distress have come upon me, but your commands give me delight. Your statutes are always righteous; give me understanding that I may live” (Psalm 119: 141-144).

Influential prophets in the Bible who did not compromise their message despite facing opposition and persecution. Their unwavering obedience and faithfulness of prophets who prioritized God's word above all else, even when it meant facing adversity and potential harm. Their stories serve as reminders of the importance of courage and conviction in standing for truth.

-Micaiah: He boldly delivered God's true prophecy to King Ahab, even though the king and other prophets preferred to hear a message of peace and victory. He stood firm in his conviction, even when imprisoned for his words, knowing that God's word would prevail.

-Jeremiah: Jeremiah was called to deliver challenging messages of judgment and repentance to the people of Judah, who often rejected and persecuted him. Despite facing mockery, ridicule, and threats of death, he remained faithful to God's calling. He is described as a "reluctant but faithful prophet".

-Elijah: He fearlessly challenged the false prophets of Baal, demonstrating the power of God and leading the people back to worship the true God. He faced threats from Queen Jezebel but remained obedient to God's instructions.

-Zechariah: He was stoned to death for rebuking the people for turning away from God and embracing idolatry. He stood firm in his convictions, even in the face of death, serving as a testimony to his loyalty to God.

-Uriah: Like Jeremiah, Uriah delivered messages of warning and judgment to the people, which led to his persecution by King Jehoiakim. Despite trying to escape, he was apprehended and executed for his prophetic message.

-John the Baptist: He was a powerful prophet who was persecuted and imprisoned for publicly rebuking King Herod. He ultimately faced beheading for his uncompromising stance. The prophet in the wilderness who baptized Jesus before He began His earthly ministry.

Prayers for those facing adversity who are serving God in the public square. Those who are enduring hardship for standing in truth. Who are being attacked by enemies, but do not yield. Prayers more people would be engaged and supportive of those who represent you but are experiencing the persecution on your behalf.

Politics if interested:
Time to influence the governor's office. I consolidated from all the lists I get. My last page is the bills headed there so hope it makes it easier for you to go in and write to the governor. If you have a bill you want me to add then let me know. https://sites.google.com/view/tanya-attebery-dreamsdontfade/2025-sessions-committees-calendars/2025-legislation-pass-it-or-veto-it/governors-desk?authuser=0

This is such a comforting song by Big Daddy Weave, “I’ve Just Seen Too Much.”

If you ask me how I know, I know He's real
I could believe that He's still with me
In spite of how it feels
If you ask me why I trust Him
When it feels like everything has come undone
All I can tell you is I've just seen too much

May 5, 2025 Posted Thoughts on Emotional vs. Rational Decision Making

Do you make decisions based on emotions? Like do you see that commercial about starving dogs with sad puppy eyes and rush to give your credit card information over the phone? Or do you look up where your money really goes and see that the CEO gets most of your money and like 2 cents of every dollar actually goes to saving those starving dogs?

I will admit I am very guilty of siding with emotional decision making, but I have found that when I have an emotional response I need to hold off for at least one day before I make a decision or respond to some unhinged angry person. By then I have had time to look at whatever it is with a more rational mindset, but it does take practice. Most of the time no response is the best response.

Rationality involves making decisions and drawing conclusions based on facts, evidence, and sound reasoning.”

When I get involved now I have ask more questions like:

Who or what is behind it?

Is it a social movement?

Is it a political movement?

Is it a faith movement?

Where does the funding come from?

What is the role of the movement?

Now,  think on these a bit as I have found myself entrenched in the muck and mire of legislation. I have discovered 3 things:

***public trust in perceived expertise is a slippery slope to bad decisions

***professionals justify and implement its policies in a language of compassion

***mixing psychological and social forces with the political is a toxic brew

The best place to go when trying to navigate this irrational emotional hotbed of decision making is to read through how Jesus told and showed people how to make sound decisions both mentally and spiritually.

The Bible doesn't explicitly tell people to think rationally in a direct command, several passages and teachings implicitly encourage rational thought and understanding of the world. Jesus' ministry often involved using parables and reasoning with people to help them understand spiritual truths.

-Proverbs encourages us to seek wisdom and understanding by applying reasoning to the knowledge of life

-Bible states “prove all things,” “test all things,” “hold fast to that which is good,” so implies the need for discernment and critical thinking about what is true and what is false

-Bible encourages people to seek the truth and understanding which requires reasoning and a willingness to examine evidence

-Faith is often a belief in things unseen, but the Bible also emphasizes the importance of understanding and having a reasoned basis for faith

-Ethical conduct is a rational principle often taught in the Bible

-The Bible teaches that people should not simply draw conclusions, but work through the evidence the Bible provides

Today, we all need this more than ever, so pray you listen to Jesus who emphasizes the importance of renewing one’s mind and directing thoughts towards things that are true, honorable, and pure. He also highlights the need to guard your heart and take captive negative thoughts, so keep your mind focused on God and His will.

We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ” (2 Corinthians 10:5).

Blessings to you all,

April 19, 2025 Posted: Warning, Explicit Material in Public Schools across the Nation

I haven’t been posting as much as I am immersed in this legislative process that is such a huge learning curve so I am watching Senate and Assembly meetings. Then as the bills have moved I have watched them go to the committees which is where public opinion has the most influence. If there is enough public opposition then the bill will die on the floor of the committee. What boggles my mind are the bills that end up passing through the committee back to the main floors. I had the opportunity to be a citizen lobbyist for a day up in Carson City. It is a madhouse and you have like 10 minutes to convince a member to vote in support or oppose the bill(s) you are there to discuss.

For the most part, I had a positive experience. Only one member, Ms. Karris, who represents district 10 in Las Vegas called me a liar and said parents deserve to be penalized with a Category E Felony if they object to books or curriculum as they all act like two year old's throwing temper tantrums. Maybe if the parents were heard then they would not end up being so emotional and angry. They have been dismissed and told that when you drop your kid off at the public school door your parental rights do not exist and you will not be allowed to question as the school has full autonomy over your child. But, even bills are contradictory. These bills are portrayed as innocent and would be beneficial for all, but they leave out the most hazardous penalties for one group and overarching protections for another. If you think there is a divide in this state now just think of the ramifications of these two bills.
Example:
AB 416: “undue influence” can be construed as harassment so a parent could be charged with a Category E Felony. This bill also removes the community (voters/taxpayers) from objecting to sexually explicit books that are in our public school libraries if you want to believe it or not.
AB 445: providing that library staff are immune from criminal or civil liability for certain acts
***Live in Nevada then here is a link to my full explanation of these bills
