It has been a while since I have focused on writing. The problem is that I am happy. I used to write as an outlet from my miserable existence, but now I am so busy that writing has taken a backseat to me living my life in real time. So what has inspired me to sit in front of a keyboard? My husband who continually reminds me that I have talent and one day will make it big as a writer.

So many topics to tackle. At times it seems politics drive our blogs. What about my new book still in the editing phase? What about Fat Haters Club? Or I could focus on the abysmal educational system I work for. How about sports, tv shows, kids, religion, etc…vast options I just need to pick one.

Let’s start with a bill I receive every month. I open it and cringe since most of what I pay goes to interest and roughly $30.00 goes to principle. When I signed up I was told that my interest would never increase. Now it is up 3%. When Obama took office he gave a speech about helping the middle class, but I am still waiting for the break.

I went to government site and filled out the reconsolidate your student loans. I had to laugh when the payment was higher than what I am paying now. Then this administration gave those with loans a three month “you don’t have to pay” pass. What they don’t tell you is after the three months your payment will be higher. On the other side, I am still paying and am three months ahead with still the same 95% interest accruing. Seems to me that if I am ahead then more of my money should be going to principle. As a middle class person I would like for less interest so I can pay these loans off in my lifetime? Makes no sense to create a program to help the middle class, but really penalizing those that work hard willing to pay with programs that are a slap in the face.

To renew my license I have to take classes. To get a raise I have to take more classes. I try to write these costs off and it is a joke. I try to write off the interest I pay on my student loans, but wait; I can only write off 5% of what I paid for the year.

So here is my irritation, as a government employee I have to pay more and more to keep my job, but am told that there are breaks for the middle class. I am pretty sure our family is somewhere in the middle.

What this administration should do is help those paying on student loans by stopping the out of control interest accruing each month. It is ridiculous and is a huge cost to families.

People want to pay their debt, but discouraging when loans never reduce? How are these loans structured? How can administration defend the interest rate accruement each month?

I am paying into the Federal Reserve and would like our government get rid of the roadblocks so those with student loans can see a light at the end of the soul sucking interest rate tunnel.
