The day has finally arrived and with grocery list in hand, off to the store to gather ingredients for our sushi dinner:

  • Sheets of Nori
  • Short grain rice
  • Salmon (always ask if it is Sashimi quality for Sushi)
  • Crab (bought fresh imitation and worked fine)
  • Cucumbers (bought English since couldn’t find Japanese-great substitute)
  • Avocado

**note: if you pick up fresh fish to cook it should be packed in ice, who knew? If fish gets warm too fast then bacteria grows…Wow, interesting! ( We chose smoked salmon this time for our first time and it turned out so yummy)

We finally purchased a rice cooker that cost $13.99 and worked wonderfully. The rice was perfect and done quickly.

We created our own vinegared rice out of rice vinegar, sea salt, and sugar.

We used our Sushi Magic which is really easy to roll the California rolls and create Battleship Sushi.

***Rice very very very sticky so keep hands, utensils, and knives wet.

Very successful meal so if you enjoy sushi then this was wonderful to make it at home!
