There has been a lot of technology news this week.  Twitter and Facebook was buzzing with updates from CES in Las Vegas.  The latest news from Verizon is a press conference on January 11, 2011, could this be the announcement of the Verizon iPhone?  Many sites are stating it will be and that the iPhone will be available in stores late January.

I think Verizon is setting themselves up for a big year.  I think the iPhone 4 will be 3G and then later in the year a 4G version.  Verizon has just changed it’s upgrade and return policies, which I believe is marketing move for Verizon.  I am sure many people will want the first iPhone on Verizon and will get locked into 1 or 2 year plans.  In doing so they will not be able to get the upgrade discount for 10+ months.  If the 4G version comes out mid year, I’m sure some people will pay to get the upgrade.

With all the new Android phones coming out, will people just forget about the iPhone and choose an Android device?
